Conference Presentation: ChatLLM23

Michael Barnes gave a presentation at the ChatLLM23 conference, on 28 April 2023. The event was a multi-disciplinary symposium on the risks and opportunities of Large Language Models (LLMs), like ChatGPT, LaMDA and other generative AI technologies. The topics covered includes LLM design, evaluation and benchmarks, impacts on society, accountability, transparency, bias detection and correction, human-driven fine-tuning (RHLF), ethical considerations and more. It was held at the University of Sydney. Michael talk, titled ‘Bing’s Little Lies: Deception in Generative AI,’ and examined the speech acts of generative AI systems with a focus on assertions and lies.
