FAccT at Last!

FAccT is Here!

The ACM FAccT conference is happening on June 21-24, and MINTies are playing big roles in it. Seth is General Chair, and will be hosting two keynote panels—on algorithmic management, and algorithmic governance of the public sphere. Jake Stone is FAccT project officer, and Nick Schuster is Scheduling Chair. Other ANU friends from HMI are also playing big roles—virtual co-chair Damian Clifford, sponsorship co-chair Chelle Adamson, and Jenny Davis is giving a tutorial, while she, Lexing Xie, and Lydia Lucchesi have an accepted paper. Here’s hoping COVID doesn’t get in the way and we all get to hang in Seoul!

Nick Schuster served as the Schedule Chair. He also presented a tutorial at the conference titled "Ethical Theory for Machine Learning." A short recorded version is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9N_mf8JC7UU.
