Devesh Narayanan is a PhD student in Work, Technology, and Organization at Stanford University. His research concerns how AI shapes — and is shaped by — the ways in which we organize work. He is particularly interested in how AI developers think about and attend to the moral implications of their work, and how collective organizing in the tech sector might influence the development of AI towards socially-beneficial ends. He is also interested in critically examining popular imaginaries of the “future of work” and the “augmentation” of labour by AI. He holds an MA in Philosophy and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore.
